Lithuania will promote exports through a unique business contact platform B2Lithuania

From now on Lithuania’s exporters will find it easier to establish contacts with partners or customers abroad – the upgraded business contact platform B2Lithuania has been launched this month. Almost 2 600 Lithuania’s exporters from various business sectors have already registered on this free platform developed by Enterprise Lithuania, an agency that promotes entrepreneurship and exports. The platform provides an opportunity for potential foreign partners to browse the exporters’ profiles and set up virtual meetings.

B2Lithuania replaces the national exporters’ database that has been available for six years. When introducing the benefits of the new platform, Rasa Uždavinytė, Head of Export department at Enterprise Lithuania, says that the interactive platform will serve as an additional marketing channel for exporters wishing to increase their visibility and find partners abroad.

“Finding a reliable partner or supplier on the international market is a great challenge. Particularly during the pandemic, when the number of trade missions and exhibitions has decreased and many international databases are charged a fee or are available with limited functionality. It takes as few as 10 minutes for any Lithuania’s exporter to register on B2Lithuania, whereas potential foreign partners are offered highly convenient search and filter tools as well as an opportunity to organise virtual meetings right here, on the platform,” comments Ms. Uždavinytė.

The new platform offers the possibility to search Lithuanian companies by sector, geographical location, size and other parameters. The country’s businesses can now provide even more information about themselves: from various image elements such as video clips to certificates, authorisations or production capacities that are relevant to foreign partners.

“Our analysis shows that similar databases do exist worldwide; however, they are rather static catalogues of contact details. B2Lithuania is different since it functions as both a business contact tool and a virtual exhibition. In addition, the platform not only provides information about Lithuania’s exporters, but also presents Lithuania’s export potential, gives a wider overview of the advantages of the country’s hi-tech engineering, ICT, life sciences and other priority sectors,” adds Ms. Uždavinytė.

According to her, B2Lithuania will also serve as an analytic tool since the statistical data on Lithuania’s exporters will enable a more efficient planning and application of various support measures. Referring to the company list compiled on the database, Enterprise Lithuania, diplomatic missions and commercial attachés recommend them to foreign companies interested in and looking for partners in Lithuania, also when presenting to foreign investors local partners who could be included in the supply chain.

Currently the platform has almost 2 600 profiles of Lithuanian exporting companies – this number is planned to double in a couple of years. Company registration is free – all you have to do is to fill in the necessary information on the platform page at b2l.enterpriselithuania.com. In order to ensure database reliability, advisers at Enterprise Lithuania verify and validate the details of every company.

B2Lithuania is one of the free export promoting services of Enterprise Lithuania developed for companies wishing to expand their sales abroad. Enterprise Lithuania also provides free individual consultations on the issues of export start and development, helps search for trade partners abroad through targeted export promotion events, international trade missions, international exhibitions, also organises various specialised export competence trainings and offers an export diagnostic test. According to the data of 2020, Enterprise Lithuania helped clients to conclude contracts valued at a total of EUR 29.18 million.
