The Ministry of Economy is the principal institution coordinating the development of the Long-Term Development Strategy of the State which identifies measures aimed at accelerating economic growth, enhancement of economy competitiveness as well as promotion of employment and investments to the human capital. Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is the central institution of the Republic of Lithuania implementing Lithuania’s foreign policy and co-ordinating activities of other public institutions in the foreign policy field. The mission of the Ministry is to represent the legitimate interests of the Republic of Lithuania and its citizens in international organizations and worldwide. Invest Lithuania provides professional services for investors and for the country of Lithuania by promoting the competitiveness of the Lithuanian economy, enhancing the attractiveness of the country as an investment location as well as raising its profile in the world.

Lithuanian Business support Agency (LBSA) is a public institution established by the Ministry of Economy as an implementing agency to manage and administer financial assistance provided by the European Union Structural Funds and national support programmes. ISM University of Management and Economics is the first privately owned institution of management education in Lithuania. The main founders of ISM are BI Norwegian Business School, the largest business school in Europe, and the Innovation Norway  (former Norwegian Industrial and Regional Development Fund). Agency for Science, Innovation and Technology - is a state budgetary institution, acting in the field of administration of the Ministry of Science and Education and Ministry of Economy.
The main objectives of Agency, seeking to encourage the research, technology development and innovation needed for the development of state‘s the innovation, are: to participate in the implementation of innovation policy in Lithuania through measures promoting the development of different types of innovation; to implement assigned programmes and measures promoting innovation, networking and development and encouraging cooperation between business and science; to promote the participation of Lithuanian representatives in international RTD and innovation programmes and organizations by providing appropriate information and financial support; to propose solutions enhancing business and industry needs for RTD and innovation; to administrate and finance the assigned RTD and innovation programmes; to create innovation-friendly environment, disseminate information and promote the achievements of Lithuanian RTD and innovation.

The guarantee institution INVEGA founded by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania on 29 November 2001 issues guarantees to credit institutions for microcredits, to new undertakings for loans for the taking up of a new business, to undertakings for loans aimed at business development as well as for loans used to finance the projects of the EU Structural Funds. Beneficiaries of these guarantees are micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) with up to 250 employees, natural persons, who have business certificates.

The Lithuanian Labour Exchange under the Ministry of Social Security and Labour and its 46 local labour exchange offices began their activities on 1 March, 1991. Currently the Lithuanian Labour Exchange and its 10 local labour exchange offices and branches in municipalities around Lithuania implement state employment guarantees on the national and local levels. The Lithuanian Labour Exchange offers support for jobseekers who want to find a job more quickly, giving them the opportunity to acquire the necessary skills to compete and succeed in the labour market, pays unemployment insurance benefits, helps employers find qualified labour force.

State Tourism Department under the Ministry of Economy is responsible for the formation and implementation of tourism policy in the country.The State Tourism Department carries out the strategic planning of tourism activities, prepares national tourism development programme, approves, within the limits of its competence, drafts of laws and other legal acts, territorial tourism development programmes, tourism and recreational development schemes and plans, carries out research of tourism market and Lithuanian tourist services; collects, accumulates, prepares and disseminates information about Lithuania, represents Lithuanian tourism at international and local events, drafts legal acts regulating tourist services, approves the standards and rules for the provision of tourist services, establishes information centres abroad.
